Podcast 89 – Juno First

I could use this bumf at the start to subliminally recruit my evil horde of biscuit thieves, seeing as no one cares about what I write here.

STEAL LOADS OF HOBNOBS AND SEND THEM TO VICTOR AND SHAUN.

But don’t tell anyone we told you to do so. Oh and play some arcade games, there’s a good chap / chapess.

  1. Hello fellas. I have just listened to all your podcasts back to back up to number 89! Its been crazy listening to your four years of crazy game antics fly by in a just four weeks of real time.
I anm still nine months behind you two, but I shall catch up soon.
I spent my yoof in arcades during the golden age of 78 to 84, before I was lured away by pubs, music and the opposite sex. Haha.
I always loved the old games and around 1994 I bought a cabinet for £80 (delivered) from a dodgy Essex geezer.
I didn’t even know if it worked until I plugged it in. It was a slightly tired Asteroids cab, which had been converted to Salamander. Me and my mates played it regularly after the pub… great 90s memories.
When I came to sell my house, the buyer agreed to buy if I included the cab! Which I did !
I have been a MAME user since the early versions when it only played around 60 games and there were no front ends… typed commands to start games.
Nowadays I play a raspberry pi with different versions of mame through an old CRT. I’m messing around with those servo-sticks at the moment.
I always play along with your featured games even though I am months behind. I have discovered lots of old games I have never heard of thanks to you guys!

That’s enough about me. Sorry for rambling on.

Love the show… hope you keep it going for a long time to come.

If I see you at Revival 2018 Walsall, I shall say hello.

    Stereodeluxe (Bill)
