Nice to get a little mention on this podcast, although my handle is pronounced “Jap J.A.C.” as opposed to “Japjack”. Of course you weren`t to know, so no worries!
How about giving the genre of SSPs (Single Screen Platformers) some props also in a future episode? Not just the cliche titles like the Bubble Bobble series (not a fan at all myself-overrated), Snow Bros., Rod-Land and the MVS ones etc BUT also the much better examples like Head Panic, Tumble Pop, Don Doko Don, Bomb Jack, Bomb Jack Twin, Whoopee!!, Diet Go Go, Penguin Brothers, Funky Jet and easily the best in the genre; Joe And Mac Returns.
The latter was briefly on location at Goodge Street`s Casino arcade back in the day and we became utterly addicted to it. I`ve never ever seen it on location since in the UK and not even in Tokyo`s arcades (over the last 15 years). An obscure/rarity in the flesh.
This game would also make for a great choice for a future listener`s high-score challenge.
